weekend lamyerdas
December 1, 2008 | 06:45 PM |
shoot a crap

weekend was F-U-N!

first things first. I started saturday rather horrifically. haha. flunked the surprise quiz (again!) at nego but its ok since almost everybody messed up. and i vow to study next time so that's ok. oh, and i also was not able to answer a very *easy* recit question since it was just codal. haha. bawi na lang next sat.

then me and willowie watched twilight. ang mahal! nagulat ako! mahal na pala movies ngayon super! badtrip pa kasi sa baba seat numbers namin eh ang lapit sa screen! nakakahilo! tapos nung nag lights out, napakadilim di ba, ayun tumama hita ko sa arm rest ng upuan. ayan nagpasa tuloy. ouch! negligence! negligence ng sm! kainis pa kasi nabagsak mp3 ko (nirerecord ko kasi yung magandang parts) ayan nabasag pala sa loob yung microchip or something ayaw na lumabas sa screen ng letters. kainis!

kain kami sa foodcourt with dods and uj and mich. natalsikan pa ko ng mainit na mantika from the sizzling food i bought ansakit!!! bili din kami pizza =) takaw!

natuwa naman ako sa twilight. i hardly had any expectations because i havent  read the books and all i know is that it's about vampires, romantic and its the hottest thing since harry potter...hehe. ok naman, some scenes were sooo cheesy! i felt like watching a stomach churning episode of Your Song!  haha! pero ok naman. Edward wasn't that hot.

DUH! tanga ba mga to dun or what?

Over all i give twilight 3.5/5 stars if only for the kilig parts!

***

After twilight, I headed to Dusit Thani Hotel sa may Ayala. Sosiness ever! Si ate kasi may convention for doctors kaya pinagamit muna ng boss niya yung room tapos hinatak kami ni asi doon. P15,000 a night dun tapos inclusive of breakfast lang. Eh shempre nagpaka-sasa kami ng ate ko sa free bfast buffet haha! mga pastries, croissants, pancakes, fruits, yogurt, cream cheese, sausages...ahhhh! this is the life! hehe!

*** Sunday morning

Then after Dusit, we met Mama and Dad para pumunta sa Gilmore Avenue ba yun para mag-canvass ng laptop. Ayun parang trip down memory lane sila Mama kasi sa St. Paul siya nag college and kabisado niya yung place. Pagkakuha namin ng mga brochures...

***

Mall of Asia naman next stop namin. Nakabili naman kami ng panregalo sa inaanak. Buti 50% sale sa Barbie hehe! then kain lang tas uwi na...

So exhausting but i love it! Nakapag-bonding kami ng sisters ko and sila Mama and Dad. Yihee family day hehe! =)

***

Was done with Legwri final draft of incorporation papers. Hanap na ko for PIL.

Ciao! 1451.gif

moot court competition
November 28, 2008 | 10:22 AM |
shoot a crap

wow. yesterday, it's my first time to see what occurs at a moot court competition. for the uninitiated, that's supposed to be the debate amongst debates for law students wherein 14 of the top law schools nationwide battle it out. the final round will be held at the supreme court. oh ha? en banc session pa yun meaning lahat ng justices andun! sosyale! (later na pala yun at 5pm)

i never tell this to anyone (shh..) but its my deep, dark, hidden desire to be part of that. haha. but of course a girl can dream, right? and i don't know if i can emulate how they speak, the style, the elocution, the whole nine yards. i don't even know if i can even beat them. but yeah its my dream and in that dream i am kicking their butts as i slide smoothly with my arguments, they will think ive been doing that for ages and i will beat them to a pulp and leave them all with mouths hanging open! haha!

the teams i was assigned to assist (read: runner-taga kuha ng tubig and what not hehe) were beda and up. beda sucked (sorry) and i was hoping they'd be good. not naman super suck but they need more practice.  i think it was their first time to compete so they can do much better next year. up law smacked them hard. eh veterans na ata mga ungas na yun. one of the two guys, i remember seeing at square off. i told him i saw him there. he just smiled (feel na feel naman ng mokong). the other guy's kinda cute. haha. kras ko nga eh kaso the way he debates, magaling and all pero parang nasa radio drama ka. and it's irritating how he keeps saying, "Thank you your honor for asking that question." Paulit-ulit and its sickening. poised na poised siya na parang carttonish na dating. parang, just answer the friggin question! stop making pa-cute! anyhoo, i was able to talk to him. i said "are you the guys who asked for bottles of water. actually we can't give you water. we're just supposed to service the judges so maybe if you friends they can get them for you." Pero nahinya rin ako so, "But maybe if you want me to buy you one," then he refused, nahiya rin siguro na uutusan pa ko hehe. so ayun. english yun ha. nosebleed! =D

well, anyway i looked him up sa friendster (twice niya sinabi name niya so i remembered it hehe) and medyo nakaka-turn off that guy. he's not as classy naman pala in real life hehe. average joe din. just some geekoid rin. good thing magaling siya.

but i have a feeling that is not the last time i will see him.. siguro next year's moot kalaban ko na siya. hahaha! who knows? =D

Holiday Shoppers Beware
November 21, 2008 | 01:37 PM |
2 shoot the crap here

Ok kids, here's a little headsup for everyone. I work Retail. It is probably my number one calling in life. I'm good at it. It makes me happy over all. I enjoy my work and i don't have to take it home with me at the end of the day. So.

To All You Dear Consumers;

The "holiday season" is upon us once again. As a retail associate, I understand that - for most of us here in the western hemisphere - and many who are elsewhere - this is prime shopping time. It's time for us to all go out and start buying things to give to family, friends, and people we hardly know because a few thousand years ago, a baby was born and we like to think about it sometimes. (Not to closely, understand, because the religious undertones could upset our consumer-based ideas of the holiday, but you know...)

Now, take a moment to stop and think about the last time you went into a store, be it clothing, grocery, or entertainment (electronic, games, toys, etc) based. Were the shelves neat? Could you find what you were looking for? Was there someone available to help you find that special something?

Now think about how you behaved while you were there. Did you leave the things that you touched where you found them or did you just casually drop them wherever was convenient for you? Did you brush off the associate who tried to help you because you knew what you were there for, and you didn't want to bother being polite to a complete stranger? Did you thank your checkout clerk when they rang you out? Did you organize your coupons and discounts, reading all the fine print so that when you did get to your turn at the checkout you knew exactly what discounts you had and were all set to go? Were you polite to the other shoppers? Did you push them out of your way because you finally found that "special something" and they were between you and it?

I do not mean to offend, and certainly hope that none of the more unpleasent scenarios there are true. However, working in multipule retail establishments, I've seen several of them happen on more than one occasion. So i know there are people out there who behave this way.

What i feel i must stress is this: If you cannot find something, if you feel you are being ignored by an associate, if you feel that the store is messy, PLEASE do not blame the associate. If the store is messy, it is because someone has just come through and messed it up and the associates have not yet had a chance to clean up after them. If it looks like the associate is ignoring you, it is much more likely the the associate is trying to clean up the trashed mess the last person left, and not intetionally slighting you. If you ask politely for some help, they will most likely be delighted to stop cleaning like an under-paid maid and walk all over the store with you looking for your "special something".

And just because you cannot combine coupons does not give you the right to throw a hissy fit. If you read your coupons when you recieve them, you will know what you can and cannot use on them. Every coupon I've ever rung through as a cashier has been carefully detailed on the back exactly what it is applicable to, and what is excluded. Do not wait in line for 20 minutes, get to the register, and then get mad at the cashier because you couldn't be bothered to actually read your coupon. It is not our fault. We will do our best to help you, but we are not your mothers or your maids. When we have to stay an hour or two hours after our store closes to clean up after you because you just dropped stuff where you were standing instead of walking the three feet to put it back on the shelf where you got it, when we have five customers in a row try to use the same coupon on the same gift set, even tho they can all see that we won't let the customer ahead of them use that coupon on that gift set, when we try our best to be helpful, energetic and supportive and are told repeatedly throughout the day that our store is horrible and that the customer can't find anything and that we were useless and didn't help at all... Believe me it does not inspire us to continue in this line of work.

Also, even tho you may have the weekend off, remember someone else does not. For many of us who work in retail, our weekends are more often monday's and tuesday's because those are the days when people do not stampede into our store, throw merchandise around and yell at us. Those are the days when we can come into work, straighten a few crooked items, and work on making sure our store is pretty.

Please remember your retail associates as you shop this holiday season. We do our best for you, and we appreciate the kindness of a "thank you" as you leave our store. Thank you for stopping and shopping with us, wherever we may be.

7 shoot the crap here

Amusing how life obliges you to

Live on cetain laws...

We live upon standards and standards of other people

Fearing to be called IMMORAL.

It's always Look...but don't Touch.

Touch...but don't Come...

Come...but never Finish.

Somewhere in between, i'm betting,

People here must know what i mean.

How nice it would be like having my whole world evolve around you

And how we'll live in perfect balance

In a Qi so harmoniously certain...

In an equillibrium undisturbed...

A feeling I had dugged out of my unconscoius.

A memory of something that had never occured.
